SF Wine Country Adventures – Napa

A continuation to SF Wine Country Adventures – Sonoma.
One day in wine country wasn’t enough for our Winapolooza trip so we added in a second day.  On day 2 we stopped by Sausalito on our drive out, visited 3 wineries, toured a wine castle and ate at a ranch for lunch.  All promptly followed by a deep slumber.

  1. Castillo Di Amorosa: a magnificent castle that looks like it is straight from the movie Brave.  We decided to do the tour, and i was extremely glad we did: a wine making process overview, castle history, wine tunnel tour, barrel tasting, a torture room, closed with a private underground tasting.
  2. Robert Mondavi Vineyard: Beautiful outdoor tasting grounds.
  3. Lunch: Farmstead at Long meadow Ranch
  4. Jessup Cellars: My favorite winery of the weekend.  Delicious wines and a wonderful, knowledgable host.

On the way back from Napa our driver stopped at a high point for us to see the city lights- what a spectacular view it was!
