Not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed about the bar being the first area of the house to be fully decorated. Â We still had boxes scattered around and closets not unpacked, but the bar was open for business. The cocktail bar has turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the new home. It displays some of my favorite items and welcomes guests into our home by living in the entry way.
Greg found these awesome Ace of Spade poster prints on Etsy. PeteKDesign is a photographer and sells an assortments of home items- his print are my favorite.  We framed the posters in 2 20x30in Ikea frames and hammered about 6 holes in the wall before getting them completely straight! The bar goodies come from an assortment of areas.  I fortunately won a liquor basket at a charter school benefit a couple weeks before the move so the bar is stocked!  The beautiful decanters come from my loving Uncle Scott, passed down to him by his parents.  I adore these decanters so much that we thought they were too pretty not to use everyday- so we use one in the bathroom for mouth wash!  Other items on the bar include an antique cocktail mixer, Great Lakes Brewing co Growler, fresh lemons/limes, cocktail glasses and my favorite candle – Capri Blue from Anthropologie.  We are searching for a tray, but no luck yet!Another reason this is one of my favorite parts of the new house is the breakfast bar everything sits on.  This breakfast bar belonged to my fathers parents.  My mother actually found it in their basement flipped upside down and being used a a work shop table.  The piece has a lot of wear and tear, but this character and the story behind it is what makes me love it so much.  A couple years ago my brother helped me re-stabilize the inside and although it is still a fragile piece, i am absolutely crazy about it!
